I was walking with my dog and trying to come up with a name for the web site. He was not helping.
When I got back home I wrote down a few names and after a while eliminated all of them for one reason or another.
On another walk, thinking again as I do, I came up with bow wow wow
Then I thought but I must have cats too!!
It was obvious the addition.
Ok, a dog barks, or howls, but what is it he says.
He says
Bow wow wow
Not just bow wow
What dog ever just says bow wow!!
It is always bow wow wow.
And those cats, well they have limited vocabulary and they always say meow
Unless of course you are stroking them and they make the purr sound.
Dogs have a happy bark, a serious bark, a frightened bark, so many different sounds, yet they all sound like bow wow wow.
Ok, maybe not. My neighbour has a beagle. He howls
Do dogs go
Arff
Woof
Bark
Or bow wow wow

My decision was it was bow wow wow
So my dog goes
And the cat says
Meow
BOW WOW WOW meow

A web site for dogs and cats, and their people! Ok it is not for dogs and cats really they don’t have money. It is for pet people.
The name pet artisan arrived the same way. On a walk
An artisan could be seen as a person who creates original work. And of course we know what a pet is.
Pet art, is not what I mean. I mean pet art of all kinds. What would we call that?

An artisan is someone who is skilled in a particular form of art or craft.
An artist creates something, often a painting, a drawing, culture, an original.
The names artist and artisan have been broadened and in some ways, one can be considered the other, as all artists and artisan are creating.
The words artist and artisan can mean very much the same, or can be interpreted very differently. Yet for the purpose of coming up with a fit all word, I chose artisan.
It could be said, a person skilled at making things, creating things, is both an artist, and an artisan.
Pet artisan includes art of many kinds; and crafts of many kinds.
No baked goods though. ( unless they are dogs and cats)
